This picture was also taken after the US Air Force Douglas B26 Invader
known as The Question Mark flew through steel cables at approx. 400 miles per hour and about 70 feet above the ground
during the Korean War. The Question Mark was one of the few planes to survive such a trap, which the enemy routinely used against the typically low flying planes. You can see the damage to the tail, but the damage was far more extensive. It would be over a month before it would fly again. The fact that it made it back to Japan is a remarkable
testimonial to the durability of the plane and the skill of her pilot.
